Matter connection
Ethernet or 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, according to current manufacturer documentation

Matter functions & installation

This bridge exposes supported KNX functions to a Matter platform. Its configuration, firmware and supported endpoint types determine which controls and readings are available.

Documented Matter functions

  • Switched, dimmable, tunable-white and color lights
  • Outlets and switches
  • Shutters, blinds and motorized windows
  • Thermostats and fans
  • Valve open/close and pump on/off with feedback
  • Temperature, humidity, illuminance, motion, occupancy and contact sensors
  • Smoke and carbon-monoxide indications
  • Door locks and programmable buttons

Commission the KNX installation in ETS, then configure the bridge with the required group addresses, data types and status feedback. Check the exact bridge firmware and your Matter platform. Native KNX functions, electrical ratings and Matter functions are separate specifications.

Bridge setup: commands, readings and feedback

Match the ETS group objects to the selected bridge and receiving app. These examples explain configuration requirements; they do not establish compatibility with every bridge.

Switching and dimming

Configure commands and readable status feedback. 1Home requires absolute brightness values for percentage control; relative wall-button dimming alone is insufficient.

Shades and blinds

Map movement, stop and position feedback. Slat adjustment needs matching objects. A timed-position fallback estimates position instead of measuring it.

Climate and sensors

Keep measured temperature and humidity separate from setpoints. A valve output alone is not a complete thermostat. Atios documents the required group addresses for each accessory.

Extra KNX values

1Home can display generic KNX data in its own app without exporting it to Matter. Do not assume that energy, wind, rain or diagnostic values appear in every Matter app.

Sources & limitations

Product research reviewed: Nov 4, 2026. This is separate from price, stock and installation-test dates.

Model, firmware & function limitations (8)
  • Bridge only: native Matter devices cannot be imported into KNX through this product.
  • The manufacturer reports about 160 Matter accessories tested and no enforced software limit; larger installations need validation.
  • Valve and pump mapping is basic switching and state feedback, not pressure, flow, speed or fault telemetry.
  • Some apps do not support valves or pumps; consult the current app compatibility matrix.
  • Alarm-system and garage-door accessories require this bridge's HomeKit mode, which cannot run simultaneously with Matter.
  • KNX energy readings through Home Assistant's KNX IP connection are not evidence of Matter energy export.
  • A basic KNX installation is needed even for the integrated DALI path.
  • Current ADE-KD-1.1 functions are documented by Atios. An older CSA certificate confirms the product family over Ethernet, but does not independently verify every current hardware/firmware feature.
